As part of his Master of Architecture thesis at the University of Detroit Mercy, Giovanni Zora examined the relationship between stadiums and the neighborhoods that surround them. Focusing on Detroit’s Corktown district, the research explored how streets, public spaces, and transportation networks can better connect stadiums to their communities. The thesis proposes a mobility-focused design strategy that strengthens everyday use of the district while improving the experience of traveling to and from major sporting events.
